I am dying for High School of The Dead to restart both the manga and the anime have been on hiatus for what seems like an eternity now. I am not sure if it has been canceled or not because every few months I hear a rumor about it starting up again just to get my heart broken. I also don't know of any other zombie like anime that fills the "walking dead" gap while having a comedy element to it.

D.Grayman and Hunter x Hunter T_T. Both on hiatus due to sick authors, but at least D.Grayman's mangaka has already completely recovered the injury in her hand and has confirmed that it will be continued. God knows when.

As for HxH, there's been fears Togashi might die because he's very ill and has been going into hiatus a lot. I hope he gets well, I don't mind the wait for the series as long as the brilliant mind that thought of it is alive and well.

I forgot about DGM, yes I wish that series would return.

HotD seems to be a lost series despite its popularity.
I am trying so hard to hold out hope for it. But I was told the other day that the creator has been working on something called Triage X. Apparently similar to HOTD, which may be why it hasn't come back. Either way, sad life.

I don't know if it would count, but I've been wanting another season of Panty and Stocking since I saw that ending :<

Me too.  I was throwing a fit when I saw that they weren't updating.  I feel bad for the authors though.  It's not fun when you have to stop doing something you (hopefully) love because you haven't been feeling well.  There was a manga  that might not be as well known or popular called Dragon Eye.  I really liked it and was horrified to find out it was on hiatus.  I'm not sure the reason why, but I think it's because of illness too except I heard the author did another series.  Not exactly sure what is happening there.  I've been waiting 7 years on it and I doubt the author is ever going to get back to it.

I never heard of Dragon Eye, but unpopularity and poor sales can be a major reason why an author decides to drop a series. If he's picked up another series then this is probably the reason.

Bleach as far as anime goes tops the on hold list for me.

And for Manga its a tie between High School of the Dead and Berserk.

I have always wanted an update of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5'Ds Manga, no one updated it since 2011 :(
