Worldwide PC shipments were down 7.7 percent to 73.7 million in the third quarter of this year, analyst firm Gartner has said.

In its preliminary results, Gartner has identified a strong US dollar as a reason for a decline in PC shipments, with impacted regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Japan, and Latin America.

I think the main reason fewer people are buying PCs because of Windows 8.1, and 10 are not as good to use as Windows 7 which is easier to use for most people.

Plus, many people don't have the money to spend the money on an Apple computer, or don't want to learn how to use Linux, UNIX, and Chrome OS.
 
I think a lot of electronics like game consoles now cost more in Canada because of the strong US Dollar. I notice apps, and software also cost more because of the lower value Canadian dollar.

I bet, the high price of software, and apps are making people buy fewer computers because they can no longer afford a new computer, and the apps/software which now cost more because of the high value of the US Dollar compared to lower value money from poorer countries.
 
You sure it isn't because everyone has a PC?
