Hi, I'm a veteran member of this forum, which was formerly known as "DS Ultimate," then "Nintendo 3DS Community". I joined DSU at the age of 13, when the Nintendo DS was new. My passion was hacking the launch title game "Super Mario 64 DS" using the Action Replay--and that's how I discovered this forum!
I quickly became a dedicated member of DSU, which was later renamed to Nintendo 3DS Community (corresponding with the newly released Nintendo 3DS.) I made a lot of friends, some of whom I still speak with (Porkman, GreenWolf, DarkYoungLink and Duckdude). I still have a deep, nostalgic fondness for the sense of community that I experienced here. (The DS is still my favourite console.)
If you were wondering “what happened to NC after that?” I'll tell ya. As a young adult, I was living on my own. I didn’t have the budget for video games, so the WiiU just came and went... and suddenly, I was in my 20s. By then, things were slowly getting better and that’s when the Nintendo Switch was released. I got one a couple years later and I bought:
Super Mario Odyssey,
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (I got pretty good at that)
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition,
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,
Super Mario Maker 2,
and Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Then my job took off somewhat and I was able to buy more Switch games. Being able to expand my library of games completely renewed my passion for gaming and the sense of community that I felt back in the N3DSC days.
And now, as of 2024 I've got quite a few games, which is something I've always wanted. I’m currently restoring my GBA and DS Pokemon game collection. You can track my progress here: www.youtube.com/awedecaiplays
