I've never used an xbox so I can't comment. :) Altho I hear they are pretty good. I've had a PS3 since 2011 tho!
 
I bought the Ps3, didn't enjoy it very much so I switched to the Xbox360 and basically fell in love. Found some friends on there and we played constantly, now that Xbox One is out we chill on there too. I think Xbox One has it's problems more than the Xbox360 but eh...what doesn't?
 
Yeah but on-line play on the xBox isn't free like on the PS3 I hear. Besides, we tend to use our PS3 to stream TV and movies more than anything else and only own about 10 games. lol

True, probably wasn't the greatest idea that Ps4 now charges for online.

$50 or around 34 pounds for a year.

Also not sure about the backwards compatibility. Maybe they wanted people to still buy Ps3's?

Usually backwards compatibility is due to licensing issues. They have to contact the publisher for each game and get their permission to make the game playable on the next generation of consoles. This is why Microsoft has been slowly adding games to the Xbox One from the 360, they add them as they get permission and have optimized them for play on the One.

I first got my Xbox because that was what the majority of my friends were playing on and I wanted to play games with them. I've continued to stay Xbox for the same reason, although now, being two consoles into the Xbox, I am quite used to their consoles and such so I don't know if I would ever switch back over to PlayStation.
 
I love our PS3 and won't be upgrading for awhile. I do want to put a bigger drive in it tho. It has a 320GB drive and I want to pop in a 500GB. Does anyone know if it's SATA?? :grin:
 
I haven't really played any of the X-Box consoles because they don't make any games that I like. I also find their controllers to be a lot bulkier than the ones for Playstation and Nintendo, which is harder for me since my hands are a little on the small side.
 
I have an Xbox One S and it's cool. Lots of titles, and I love the controllers much more than PS4.
 
I have an XBOX one for the sole purpose of playing Halo 5 when it came out. Tbh though, I haven't even turned it on in forever, BUT I do know that it is keeping itself updated because it auto-magically turns itself on every now and then for a bit and then turns itself off.

(I have enabled the auto-update feature. There is nothing worse than wanting to play a video game for the 1 time in 4 months or so, and having to wait for a MASSIVE UPDATE, only to make you want to do anything other than watch the update screen, so you go and do something else.)
 
I sold my Xbox and bought a nice blu-ray player since it was basically a media player. lol
