If you pay attention to our news section, just a friendly heads up (via PSA) that now isn't a time to buy a PS4, in fact I greatly pity anyone who does.

We are less than a few weeks away from Sony's big Playstation event, where info on the PS4 Neo and PS4 Slim should be announced. After this event I would expect that any current PS4's should get a price drop anywhere from $50-100 dollars to clear stock out and make room for the new units.

If there is one thing you should buy, its PSN Plus membership codes, lots of them. Before the price hikes up.

Yeah its best to hold off now for a little bit. That said, if you have a PS4 already you should be following news on PS4K to see where that leaves you, and more importantly, don't buy a PS4 Slim as it would be a waste of money. I think the Slim is mainly for people who haven't already purchased the console.

I don't see why Sony is even bothering with a slim. the PS4 itself is pretty compact from what I can tell and the slim model doesn't even look that good really.

I agree I'm not sure on the look of it myself. I never see the point of slim versions - just release the original as small as possible when you make it.

The past PS systems have been bulky, so a slim was a good idea. I really thought the Neo was Sony's way of releasing a slim.
True. I just don't ever see why a year or so after launch they are suddenly able to make it a lot smaller... why not just make it smaller to begin with. I think PS4K will probably be larger than the slim PS4 model due to the increased specs probably meaning it will take up more unit space.

Because how else would Sony make more money?

I'm worried about the PS4 Slim overheating because of a lack of air flow.

I think the regular PS4 slim will have a better cooling system to keep it running cool when it is on.

I'm sure this will be the first thing tested once in user's hands.

I agree, a lot of users will test their PS4 for overheating problems. But, a lot of the times, overheating slowly breaks things like game consoles, and computers. If your console breaks after the 1 year warranty, Sony will not fix or replace your console.
