So, here's a hypothetical situation: someone offers to give you a free Xbox One if you agree to make a video on YouTube saying that you like the Xbox One more than the PlayStation 4 and that the Xbox One is your favorite gaming console ever.

You are not allowed to delete the video and you are not allowed to disclose afterwards that you were lying in the video.

However, you like the PlayStation 4 more than the Xbox One.

Would you accept this offer and lie to receive a free Xbox One?

Yeah because I doubt anyone would care that I liked a Xbox more than a PS4. Do I still get to use a PS4?

As long as it didn't affect my PS4 playing or upload game footage I would.

I'd take the console, then post the video saying how much I prefer the Playstation 4. People who have no ethics and lie about everything for their personal gain disgust me.

It's not that big of a lie - certainly not one that people would care too much about, so I personally wouldn't be that bothered as to lie about it to get an Xbox One.

Sure I'd have no problem saying I liked the Xbox One more over the PS4 if it meant a free console.

I don't think there's much benefit to "staying true" to your morals here, even having a slight preference for another console and publicly telling people otherwise. Like, who cares about my opinion? And who would want to skip out on a free XBox One? You'd be basically losing money by passing it up on the offer.

Of course I'd lie, why wouldn't I? I doubt most people would care about which console I'd prefer. Even if someone wasn't a gamer they could lie to get the console, sell it and there they have a few hundred dollars in their pockets. I think a better question would be why wouldn't you lie in this scenario? It's a small white lie that would benefit you greatly, it's not like it'd come back to bite you in the buns hard or anything.

In these tough times, where you need seven thousand South African Rands to buy an Xbox one, hell yes! Besides, you could just make that video and then use the YouTube ad revenue (if its allowed) and the money you can get selling the One to buy your beloved PS4 or some new games or whatever if you already have the console. If you are so concerned about staying true to your morals that you will sacrifice the prospect of such a big reward, then go ahead, you'll only be fooling yourself because at the end of the day, very few people will care about your opinion.

I personally like both consoles by the way, console wars is just a bunch of ignorant 12 year olds trying to prove why their plastic box is better than their friend's.

The downside is that your conscience would know that you're making money off of lies... :p

I don't see any reason why I wouldn't do this to be honest. I highly doubt anyone would care in the end that I said what I said and it would mean I would get a free console for something so simple so why not?

I wouldn't because I'm not that big of a fan of X-Box. Plus, like everyone has said already, you would know you'd like in the first place and that would end up bothering you later.

Would I lie for an xbox one?
No, I wouldn't. I have no interest in an xbox one. For one I already have a PS4 and am plenty happy with it. For two there aren't really any games on the xbox one that I really want. Thirdly (supposing that it did have enough games that interested me) I don't have enough time as it is to play all the games I want to now, so why add more to the list?

Plus, for me at least, it isn't worth lying about. For others, like reviewers though... yeah it'd be a pretty big deal to lie because loads of people are putting their trust in what you say and it'd be a bit of betrayal. That could make people not trust you in the future, you'd lose subscribers and endorsements.

That said, I'm glad to see people keeping Dr. House right...

No, I would not lie to get a free Xbox One because I feel once you start telling lies for money and stuff, it can lead to telling other lies once you are used to telling lies in-exchange for money or goods, and eventually, people who lie may start to scam people, and become dishonest all the time.

Plus, some viewers may post a lot of angry comments that I tricked them into buying an Xbox One which is not as good as I say, and they lost my trust, and they unsubscribe to my channel.

If new viewers find out about lies, it can affect my YouTube channel, and there is a lesser chance that people subscribe to your channel, or trust my opinion, so I earn less money from YouTube ads, endorsements, and sponsors once I'm known as someone who is dishonest.

Posting lies online can affect people's chances of offline employments if they work at jobs like police, security guard, government, law, and other jobs where honesty is very important.

I would probably lie for a free Xbox One. It's not that big of a lie and people won't care about it.
For those who think this lie would lead to bigger lies than it's probably best not to lie.
