This just looks like a bad infomercial. I'm sure Nintendo will release an updated Switch with a better kickstand (similar to Microsoft's Surface), but this video is a bit too exaggerated. It shouldn't be shocking to anyone that if you slap the Switch, it will fall over. The one thing they did confirm is that the kickstand pops out and can easily be placed back in.

Most likely there would be protective cases which solve this problem since most protective cases for tablets already have a kickstand. A portable tablet stand which you can get for $2 or more on eBay can solve this problem, and most tablets stands have adjustable angles, so you can change the angle of the tablet's screen like a regular laptop or flip phone.

Those might not work as well due to the way the Switch fits into the docking station.

I think most people will take off a third-party protective case with a stand when the Switch is in less danger of being dropped or scratched like when holding it with your hands.

Taking a tablet out of a protective case takes a few seconds . The Switch not fitting in the docking station when using a protective case with a built-in stand is not a huge problem for many users because they can easily slide out the tablet from the case to put it in a docking station.

Standalone portable tablet stands are not attached to the tablet with mounts like a case, so you just need to lift up the Switch tablet from the stand to remove it from a tablet stand.

reminds me of my ASUS router with its kickstand, you so much as tap the router and the kickstand will come out and the whole thing falls. VirusZero VirusZero did you have that issue as well?

I just lost it seeing the hands mistreating the poor console and still not getting the stand to pop out. X'D

As far as I understand it was done by design it popped out that so it wouldn't break if you were a dummy and tried to place it into the base without retreating the kickstand, haha.

I never bothered with the stand for my router, I liked it laying flat...

As for the Switch, the stand seems too small and too far to the side. It seems like it maybe should have been in the middle more and considerably wider.

There is a rubbery soft dough-like material like play-dough which you can buy at office supplies stores or stores which sell office supplies to temporarily secure stuff like routers, lamps, tape dispensers, and landline telephones to a desk, so they don't move around which can scratch a table, and make stuff harder to tip over. You can also use the rubbery material to stick pictures or posters to a wall.

I think using this rubbery dough may work at keeping the Switch from moving around when in stand mode if you use enough dough in the right places like the stand, and the bottom corners of the tablet.

I would think laying it down would affect its signal or keeping it cool, the router seems to get rather hot.
