Can anyone read Japanese?

Shelke's Japanese, IIRC?

Can anyone translate this?

コースにはコインを集める仕掛けがたくさんあり、プレイ中に集めたコインはすべてカウントされます。合計100万枚あつめると出現する「金色のマリオ像」を目指して繰り返し何度でもあそべます。

It's the "prize" for getting 1 million coins in NSMB2.

I wanted an accurate translation, and not a Google translation, so someone who can speak English, and also read Japanese should be the most accurate translation there is, even more so if they are actually Japanese.

um google translate looks accurate? It seems as if you either get a gold mario statue, or play as him. Just like the pin gamestop/eb games is giving as a pre order bonus

But it's not accurate. Google Translate never is.

I mean do you really hear people saying "and total appearance Mario statue of gold"?

I meant a more accurate translation as it would be said by an English-speaking person.

Meh, too lazy to translate for you. Sounds like you already get the general gist of it anyways, and my translations are not exact either.

I can read/write a fair amount of Japanese but am poor at conversation with it.

I already know what the Google translation is. I just wanted a more accurate "English" translation by a human, not a 'machine'.

The point is some troll on GameFAQs won't accept the possibility that this statue might be more than just that.

People are speculating on whether it's a playable form of Mario, a new World, or something.

Yet he insists it's "just a Statue", and goes on to troll about how "a statue is a statue", yet we've been constantly trying to explain the simple concept that "it's a video game, and things aren't real in video games", yet he continues with his "definition of statues" thing.

TUK, this obviously needs a serious investigation! Like seriously, I get nothing from "The course has a lot of trick to collect coins, coins collected during gameplay will be counted. You can play any number of times to repeat aims to collect one million and total appearance "Mario statue of gold." I can't even put 2 and 2 together and discover what it really means! Oh woes me, I really am not the brightest of folk.

the only word i know is ni hao

Are you sure? I don't want a ****ing Google Translate. I want an accurate translation from someone who SPEAKS and READS Japanese.

Just forget there's SUCH THING as an online translator.

I don't want the "general idea". I want the PROPER ENGLISH translation.

This is English: "You have no chance of survival. Hurry up"

This is NOT English: "You have no chance to survive make your time".

This is English: "They set the bomb on us"

This is NOT English: "They set up us da bomb!"

See the difference? I don't want a crappy "online computerized machine translation", but a proper "human" translation by someone who can speak Japanese (preferably who IS Japanese), and can also speak English.

If I'm not mistaken, Shelke (sp?) is Japanese?

WHAT OTHER POSSIBLE MEANING COULD "The course has a lot of trick to collect coins, coins collected during gameplay will be counted. You can play any number of times to repeat aims to collect one million and total appearance "Mario statue of gold." FUDGIN' HAVE?!?
/Rage

Oh, I know, SOMEHOW, "The course has a lot of tricks to collect coins" = Mario is blue in this game, and finally marries Peach.
"Coins collected during gameplay will be counted" = Chuck norris kills Bowser and challenges Peach to a pillow fight.
and "You can play any number of times to repeat aims to collect one million (coins)" = The new power up in this game is "Final Flash/Fukelin", it puts Mario on steroids and every enemy on the map is instantly killed, and Mario jumps to the end of the level.

..Seriously?

$10 it's like when you get 999 lives and Mario loses his hat, except this time you're constantly gold.

But this isn't a prediction thread. And also, no, I can't read Japanese.

But what's the point of being Gold Mario constantly if you've already collected 1,000,000 coins?

I dunno. My thoughts were you would look gold but wouldn't have the power up's abilities. Maybe I'm just crazy.

I just asked my Japanese co-worker to read it and he told me the exact same stuff. About how there are lots of tricks to get coins and that you can replay the levels to get a million coins in order to make a Gold Mario ststue appear. Keyword being appear I guess. So there you go, I guess it's just a thing next to your save file type reward.

Yes, but as I and other people, have suggested, just because it says it "appears" it doesn't mean it will be "just" a statue, and do exactly what a "statue" does in real life (i.e. nothing).

I keep saying to that troll on that other place, that it could be a stage. You know, like the crown stage in SM3DL? But the troll (yes he's a troll) keeps saying stupid things like "Nintendo said it's a statue not a stage".

And that "you know what a statue is". And I keep constantly telling him that "WE know what a statue is...", and to put a lot of emphasis into this... "in REAL LIFE", and have to explain to him that this is a VIDEO GAME. And he just can' get it into his stupid thick skull that the statue COULD be a level, or it COULD be something. But all he says is "They said it's a statue", and then defines a statue in real life.

It's not that hard to understand is it.

In videogames, "shit" happens. Often very crazy "shit", right? Just because a statue is made out of clay or stone or whatever, IN REAL LIFE, it doesn't mean it has to be a completely inanimate object. It could move. Maybe you get to play as it, and it's like a Gold Mario, combined with the statue Mario from SMB3/SM3DL, but you're also able to move (just much slower

).

But then, it COULD be stationary, but it COULD also appear on a World Map, and represent a stage, right? But no, apparently the ****ing statue has to act like a real statue. I even say "mushrooms don't make you big in real life", and "coins don't float in mid-air", and then he says "It's not real life it's a video game", and I'm like "Exactly you idiot".

Uh, I don't care if you think I'm a troll now, but :

Nintendo said it's NOT a level, it's a statue.

Well we just have to wait. Nintendo's given us shit-all info from that quote, so it's just using common sense to rule out the sheer impractibility of a video game company sending out novelty statues. It would have to have a deadline, and that would need to be made aware for legal issues or whatever so people can't say "WHERE'S MAH STATUE". I mean, they could use Club Nintendo to distribute, but it would be smarter to just sell the Gold Mario statue rather than give it away for free. Plus if they were giving out free statues I think they would have given us more info about it because it's a pretty big thing in itself to have such an offer.

These are definitive answers... But I'm just ruling out that option due to my reasons as to why it wouldn't work (not easily, at least. If they managed to do it, then wow).
