ASUS May Launch Fewer Consumer Desktop Products Going Forward

If a new report out of Taiwan is taken at face value, it appears that ASUS has decided to release fewer conventional consumer desktop computers going forward. The company will reportedly focus more on its enterprise sector in China and Taiwan instead, aside from focusing on all-in-one PC and high-end Republic of Gamers branded machines.The decision is said to stem from the fact that the worldwide PC market hasn’t exactly been growing over the past few years.

Hopefully, Asus does not totally stop making all its Desktop and laptop computers in the future. I think most people have desktop computers these days, so there is less of a need for them to buy a new one every year, or every few years.

I think most gaming laptops are over priced. PC gamers who don't need to play games on a laptop can buy or hire someone to build them a more powerful Gaming Desktop PC for the same amount of money.

Same, for me, I just care that individual computer parts like CPU, RAM, motherboard, video cards, etc are being sold at stores, so I can build, and upgrade my computer. I can also buy the parts I need, and hire someone to build my computer if I don't have the time, become too old where I can't easily turn a screwdriver, or broke my arm or hand where I can't use my hands for building and upgrading a computer.

I agree, I doubt selling individual parts will ever go away.

But, I feel the companies who make individual parts would be smaller companies which have fewer machines and hire fewer workers who make fewer parts if the demand for individual computer parts become lower because of different reasons like the world not having enough people who are over the age of 16 who are the most likely people to buy individual parts for a PC.
