Do you still see computers which use non-USB wired keyboard and mouse?

It is less common to see computers which use non-USB wired keyboard, and mouse, but some banks, and offices still seem to use PS/2 keyboards, and mouses instead of USB wired keyboard and mouses.

They are going the way of the VHS. To be honest though I never saw the point of combining the two ports into one slot.

I think combining 2 ports into 1 slot save money for the PC maker, but make it frustrating for people who needs 2 ports, and dont want to use an adapter.

I always figured they came out with a keyboard and mouse which the wires for them both combine into one.

I never seen a keyboard with a wired mouse attach to it. But, there are keyboards with touchpads, and a scroll ball, or joysticks, so I think the port maybe used for keyboards with a built-in touchpad, ball mouse, or joystick which controls the mouses cursor.

we still have mouse ball in-use in my friends house, he said it's much tougher than the new ones...

He maybe right in some cases. Those ball mouses last a long time even when they are used in schools where kids can abuse the mouse.

Ball mouses require cleaning with rubbing alcohol or electronics cleaner when the ball is dirty, and they could last longer than newer optical mouses. The LED lightbulb on optical mouses can burn out over after being ON for many thousand of hours, and the USB chips and optical sensor may break sooner because electronics are no longer built to last for many years these days since most electronics are made with recycled metal, cheap plastic, and other cheap materials like which are less durable than more expensive metal like gold or silver, and plastics which are thicker.
