I never liked this game and i love rpgs but in my eyes its waaaaay overrated boring combat story put me to sleep cloud had pop eye arms the music was a 2 out of 100 at best what a piece of over hyped trash even til this day i hope they never remake it and let i rot forever. Anyone agree vote on my site theres a link below...have a blessed and safe day

I tried playing it and didn't enjoy it much either. Seemed to feel really dated for me. I do want to try the remake a some point, though.
 
Gotta admit that I hate when people use "Am I the only one"... The answer is always no. You are not the only one. This planet has 7 billion people. The chance of you being the only one to hold a particular view is infinitesimally small.

As for the game itself, it got a lot of hype and attention and people remember it very fondly. And it is a good game. (I happen to like the music from the game and think it was well done. It was one of the first times that people paid attention to game music as something more than beeps.) If you don't like the game, that's fine. You don't have to like it. Just don't try to deny others of their enjoyment of it. So that means if people want a remake, let them enjoy it. The fact a remake exists does not harm you. You are not obligated to play it or even acknowledge it exists.

Let me make something clear here that I make clear to all haters, the game did not suck. It would never have sold, gain such a following, had so many sequels/prequels and a remake if it sucked.

If you hate it and dislike it that's totally cool and that's great even. Not everyone is going to like everything. But you can't say it don't deserve stuff or should rot due to a personal opinion when a reflecting world numbers on the game far outweigh you.
 
If OP isn’t trolling, he probably doesn’t play turn based games that much if the combat was boring for him.

It didn’t age well, but it’s not a bad game by any means. Sure it’s overhyped, and half of its popularity was largely due to the massive marketing campaign, especially when it isn’t much of an upgrade in much of anything from FF6, except in the graphics department.

If you ignore the hype, and just take it at face value, it’s a solid RPG.

A lot of earlier released games on a console don't age very well, though another issue FF7 has, is how the pre-rendered backgrounds are mapped. It can be a bit awkward to move around, and sometimes you can't tell what you can and can't walk on, and they had to use green arrows to let you know what an exit was.

FF9 aged a lot better, as it was a late release where they mastered the technology, and found an art style that complemented the graphical limitations.

Yeah, I wish they gave us another same goes for the OoT/MM zelda series on N64. Just had the perfect style to it.
