Bad news folks, your viewing portals grow smaller as Google is pulling the Youtube app from Amazon based streaming devices.

TechCrunch is reporting the pulling of the app is due to an ongoing conflict between the two companies, which led to Google removing YouTube from the Alexa-powered Echo Show earlier this year when the app lacked expected features.

FireTV users will reportedly see a warning that the YouTube app will be gone by January 1, 2018, whereas the Echo Show version will stop service today.

You almost gave me a heart attack. I thought you meant the Youtube App was being pulled from everywhere. That would've been the worst news.

I do feel bad for those with Amazon streaming services though. I know a lot of people who mainly use their tvs to watch Youtube so that would suck.

I downloaded the "Anzutube" app quite some time ago, because it allows me to play YouTube videos in the background and in a loop, without the need to wait until YouTube Red comes available here.
The other day I wanted to find it back in the App Store to share it with somebody else, I blatantly couldn't find it.

So yea, Google does this for much longer.

that's what I thought when the news was first going around.

This sort of reminds me of how Windows Phone has no YouTube app. I think the YouTube app in the Windows store is just a bookmark to YouTube which opens the mobile site of YouTube.

I feel this is not a big deal for many users since users can use YouTube website at YouTube.com on a web browser, and most other moble devices have YouTube app these days or can use YT on a browser. Using a Mini or Micro-HDMI cable to connect a Phone or tablet to a TV. You can always take out your phone or tablet, and connect it to your TV by using Chromecast, Apple TV screen mirroring for iOS, and Roku.

I know someone who has a Windows 10 Mobile phone, and the mobile site works anything but optimal on that thing.
You sometimes waste 10 seconds on scrolling to see the full video, and then scrolling down the page can be a challenge.
Furthermore, the mobile YouTube site is lacking many features the desktop version has.

Having an official YouTube app is still helpful regardless.

I wonder if the mobile version of Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer web browser is the main reason for YouTube's mobile website not working as good in Windows 10 mobile. I haven't experience the scrolling YouTube problems in Android, and rarely hear of many of these scrolling problems with people who use the mobile site for YouTube in Google Android, and Apple iOS web browsers like Google Chrome, Opera Mobile, and Safari for iOS browser.

An official YouTube app would be helpful for YouTube users who use YouTube on Windows 10 Mobile especially now that Windows Phone is almost discontinued by Microsoft who is unlikely to fix problems with its mobile web browser in a timely manner.

It shouldn't be too much of a problem and I'm sure they will resolve it sooner or later.

Most Amazon devices like the Kindle Fire tablet and Fire TV uses a modified version of Android called Fire OS as its operating system, so users can probably install/sideload the Kodi Media Center and install the YouTube add-on for Kodi to continue watching YouTube on their Amazon device.

Here is a guide to install Kodi on Fire TV : HOW-TO:Install Kodi on Fire TV - Official Kodi Wiki
