I pick McAfee instead of Norton/Symantec if I had to choose a pre-installed antivirus which come pre-installed in pre-built computers from PCs like HP, Dell, Asus, Lenovo, and Acer.

I used McAfee at school and home computers, and McAfee works good enough on computers which have McAfee installed on them. McAfee is not my favorite choice in antivirus, but I feel safer using McAfee than Norton and Windows Defender.

McAfee LiveSafe has 4.5 stars out of 5 stars from Amazon.com users on https://www.amazon.com/McAfee-LiveS...id=1512684652&sr=8-2&keywords=mcafee+livesafe

McAfee license works on an unlimited amount of devices.

Symantec Norton has 4 stars out of 5 stars from Amazon.com users on https://www.amazon.com/Symantec-Nor...d=1512684699&sr=1-4&keywords=norton+antivirus Norton also has a higher percentage of low Amazon star reviews where users gave it 1 or 2 stars out of 5 compared to McAfee which have fewer low reviews. The low rated reviews also seem more serious for Norton like "Do not buy this software, you will never get rid of it and be charged automatically for YEARS by this company"

But, Norton license can only be used on 1 PC.

Norton also does not have many bad news stories.

I read an articles which complain abuot Norton like Security vulnerabilities in Symantec and Norton 'as bad as it gets' warns researcher which says Norton and Symantec Antivirus contains a very bad security vulnerability which makes Windows very insecure, and the Norton/Symantec user on the PC does not need to interact with the computer to get it infected.

There are also many forum posts on Norton's forum like norton broke my computer windows 10 | Norton Community where Norton software broke the users Windows 10 install, and other software.

"I was upgrading to Norton premium and from that moment on after the restart I just get a series of blue screens, the damage is so bad that I cannot even open in safe mode."

Tech reviewers like Leo Laporte don't recommend Norton products because it is bad to use. He got very mad with Norton antivirus where he stomped on the Norton box, and kicked the box in the video I posted below.

Depends on the mcafee you buy as to how many devices it covers but it does seem to be the best choice out of them all.

McAfee Internet Security 20.2 has high ratings of 6 out of 6 stars at blocking viruses on AV-Test virus blocking test at AV-TEST - McAfee – The Independent IT-Security Institute .

But, I think some Pre-built computers may come with an older or less-advance version of McAfee which maybe less good at stopping virus infections.

I think less tech savvy users would be more comfortable using McAfee than a new Antivirus from a less popular brand, or a brand like Norton which has bad reviews on Amazon, YouTube, and offline reviews from family members, friends, and at an office where co-workers complain that Norton is slowing down their PC.

Virus and Ransomware makers may make customizatons/mods for their virus and ransomeware where it is more likely to not get detected by McAfee Livesafe real-time protection shield. Virus makers may test to see if their virus does not get detected on a copy of McAfee Lifesafe which they can try for free by installing a free trial on Windows.

McAfee Livesafe maybe one of the most popular antivirus used by pre-built home computer users who use a HP, Dell, Acer, etc.

Many home users stick to the antivirus like McAfee or Windows Defender which come installed/enabled with their computer. Some users buy the cheapest Antivirus like McAfee Livesafe which is on sale at stores, or almost free after mail-in-rebate when there is a sale.

I used macafee at first but never liked it's interface and avast has good UI.
Well, I switched Kaspersky and I have been using it for almost 6 years now.

I used McAfee Livesafe a few month ago, and its user interface was pretty easy to use. It was easy to find the scanning and updating sections in Livesafe's user interface.

It is not the best looking antivirus, but it is not very hard to use.
