Hoping to play the FF 7 remake soon? Well the wait will be long, the question coming to light is the wait going to be shorter or longer than waiting for the remake news itself?

A Japanese job listing put out a call for “core member” (コアメンバー) recruits, looking for those with game planner experience and especially those with level design and Unreal Engine 4 skills. The monthly salary starts at 300,000 yen ($2,817) and the gig is in Tokyo.

The job listing site is in Japanese, so it’s unclear how non-Japanese speakers or those outside the country can apply.

The game was being done by CyberConnect, but Square Enix has since cut them from the project and is now doing it themselves.

Probably I would already be 40+ by the time this game comes out lol

I wonder if the game would be for PS4 or PS5 though by the time it's ready.

I think there would be two versions for both PS4 and PS5 if FF7 gets delayed to when the PS5 is released. I feel the PS5 will get dalayed as well since it takes a long time to design a console, and Sony is not in a huge rush to release a PS5 when there are so many PS4 gamers out there.

At this point the game is clearly going to be coming out on next gen consoles. There is no way the first part of this game is coming out before 2020 and by then we should have a release date or the release of the PlayStation 5/Next box.

That is one long wait.

Is FF7 Remake going to be a multi-part game like the original Final Fantasy 7 where you have to buy the game in parts?

I wonder about the multi-part thing too, probably the remake is going to be a duo/tri-logy.

they already confirmed it will be sold in parts, much how like they released Final Fantasy 13.

Was FF 13's multi-part thing planned from the beginning though?

So, kind of like what they did with FF X-2, where the sequel wasn't originally planned too, in FF 13's case.

I don't really like FF7 Remake being multi-part since there is always a chance that the other parts never get released because of poor sales, and other reasons, and SquareEnix can always raise the price of the other parts when they are release, so you end up paying lots of money for a many parts.

Technically the original was multi part as well, also this is too huge to fail unless (to quote FF 7 abridge by TFS) they fuck it up.

I thought the original one came in multiple disc because of the file limit of CDs which can store about 700MB of data, and the multi-disc .

Hopefully, FF7 remake won't be messed up.

It did, but they could easily have released those in separate purchases.

I think FF7 sometimes cost more in the past because it was a multi-disc game, and the game is one of the most popular RPG games.

Selling all of FF7 games in one game box most likely cause more FF7 fans to become longterm FF fans who decided to play FF8, FF9, and playing the FF MMORPG, watch the FF movies, and play mobile FF games.

One of the problems with selling the games in multiple parts is that the games maybe hard to find after a few months, and back in the past sites like eBay did not exist, or less popular. Plus, finding and buying used games was harder to find if you live in a smaller town, or fewer people decide to sell the game.

Read some Art Director and VFX Director interview of the remake :

"According to Takai-san it’s not just a matter of improving the graphics. He wants to work while thinking deeper about it. For example, if you recover your energy with “Cure” it shouldn’t just be sparkly particles. He wants to create the effect while thinking “it’s invisible energy drifting around the character when it gathers and is visualized, it’s absorbed by the body and emits light.”"
