Talking about it in a few other topics, but how do cell phones go about getting so many germs? The whoosh cleaner claims your phone is worse than a toilet, so how do they get so bad?

The only place my phone is on my table, in my pocket or in my hands (Which I do my best to keep my hands clean).

Don't be surprise if you call someone and find that they answer it while in the bathroom - My manager did that once.

On topic, I think it because the many places where some of us take our phone, and I mean outside the house. You can't really help it if you had your phone in your pocket and needed to go to the bathroom while you are out.

Some people don't use a plastic protective case which they can easily wash by taking off the case and cleaning it with antibacterial cleaner, or warm water and soap.

People are cheap and lazy when it comes to cleaning their phone screen, and may use the moisture/saliva or water from their used waterbottle from their mouth to clean their screen.

Due to the way touch screens work, you can no longer operate your phone with protective gloves on, so this thing can come in handy. ww

At a store, I saw some touchscreen gloves which has silver threading on the finger tip clothe area, so the heat from your finger can still get transfer to the touchscreen through the gloves.

But, if you live in a hot place like Mexico, and don't have air conditioning, wearing gloves to use any phone even flip phones would be uncomfortable because of the glove insulating your heat unless the gloves have been put in the refrigerator to prevent your hands' heat and the heat from the sun from heating up your hand as fast.

This is why I don't make it a habit to shake hands.

I also try to avoid hand shaking, and prefer to wave my hand from a far to also avoid people's germs from their mouth and nose while they talk when saying Hi.

There are also people who can squeeze your hand too tight when hand shaking which can be a problem if you injured your hands, or have sore hands from doing too much handy work like typing, using a hammer, or chopping wood.

Oh my God. Honestly, I don't take my phone everywhere like many people. I hate unclean surroundings.
I hate shaking hands too.

I think phones have gotten more dirty because a lot of phones are used by very young children who are under the age of 5 years old. A lot of parents have cartoon, and game apps for their children, and the parent or babysitter may not be washing their kids' hands before letting them use their phone to play games, and watch cartoons, so the germs spread to the phone.

To me it depends.
I shake hands with western tourists, but also pay attention to only shake with my right hand when doing so with Muslims.
And among locals and other east Asians I bow.

But I won't make a problem to swap things around if the other party wishes so.

Buying a removable tempered glass screen protector to protect your phone's screen and bezel can reduce germs because you can wipe the glass screen protector with anti-bacterial wipes, and not risk cleaning liquid from entering your speaker and mic holes when you take off the screen protector to clean it, or use tape to cover the mic and speaker holes to prevent liquid damage from liquids entering the holes on the phone.

The thing is, the reason why our smartphones got so many germs or viruses that probably will cause sickness, it will only start from our hands and the place where you put it. So the simplest approach is always keep our hands clean and always consider a clean place where you are going to put or place our phone and so it will remove or greatly minimize the germs, viruses and bacteria on our mobile phones and always clean our phones regularly for the sake of our health.

True, I see lot of people put their devices anywhere, especially on the hospital.
