So since some of you asked ( CM30 CM30) I recently upgraded myself to a new phone and decided to go with something pretty nice and got myself an LG V30 Plus. Mainly because it was rootable (had to flash a nougat android flavor, upgrade that to Oreo before I could attempt a root process, it got kind of messy) and had some nice specs to it.

So far I'm loving it, I wish it was kind of smaller but its pretty sleek and very powerful. Though does get hot when heavily used though.

The LG V30+ does look like a nice phone. It is nice that LG still allow users to root their phones.

nope, they do not. Like I said in my post, I had to flash a whole different android OS just to get to Oreo that has the vulnerability to do the rooting, which is done with patched flashing software. Was not easy.

That is disappointing. But, at least, LG did not patch the vulnerability, so people can still root their phone.

I have heard a lot about this phone myself and I would certainly consider it if I have to buy a new one.

Hopefully, it wouldn't come to that.
It's great that you like it!

I feel if there is a chance that future LG phones will allow rooting again if enough users complain, or buy other brands of Android phones which can be rooted.

Rooting isn't exactly favored by phone makers. That's why the people over at XDA work so hard to make it possible.

I do like it, but the one draw back so far is that the home/power button is behind the phone and I hate the tray that houses the SIM card and SD card, it sucks.

I bet, some of the workers at phone makers may secretly favor rooting. But, their greedy and less tech savvy boss may not favor rooting.

There is chance phone makers may favor rooting after most of their buyers choose other brands of phones like Google Pixel, Nokia 6, Essential, and OnePlus 5 with an unlocked bootloader, and can be more easily rooted.

I think more tech savvy users, and people who want to save money, will pick phones which are rootable, and allow custom ROM installation on the phone.

Custom roms don't come with bloatware or bundled apps like YouTube which you may never use because watching videos on a phone is not as enjoyable as a TV and desktop PC with a loud speaker system with more bass and treble.

I'm sure the grunt workers are, but the higher ups aren't.

The higher ups may start to care when their cell phone company start losing new and returning buyers because people start buying phones which can be rooted, and more buyers buy a phone which can easily be rooted.

Motorola, HTC, Sony, Blackberry, Pantech and Nokia now are a lot less popular and have fewer buyers because there are better phones which more people rather buy because other phones like the Google Pixel can be rooted, have faster performance, and look nicer.

I really don't have the statics, but its really not all that many who root their phones.

I think the number of people who root their phones is low, but there are probably still many thousands to millions of worldwide users who root their ohone. People who root their phones maybe a lot less likely to recommend a phone to their friends and family if the phone is hard to root, or not rootable.
