I have not have a broken power supply with my for my desktop computers which I had been using for many years.

I also no longer hear as many stories about as many PC users having broken power supply problems on newer desktop computer these days compared to the past where power supplies seem to be less reliable on computers made by eMachine, Dell, HP, etc.

Well, not that many times but it's common.
Some loose connections with all those wires and circuits and such.

I think power supply failures are more common if you don't use a good surge protector which prevent a power surge from damaging a power supply on a PC.

Power supplies may fail as the computer gets older like most electronic devices.

Far as my stuff goes, I never had the issue other than batteries dying on my laptop.

One of the reasons I prefer tower desktop computers is that they don't have a battery which can fail.

not as likely, but the power supply can fail as well.

I agree the power supply can fail as well.

The charger/power supply for laptops can fail as well.

But, desktop power supplies are more affordable to replace on a basic tower desktop PC. A good ATX power supply for desktop tower PC can be bought for $50, and the power supply should be good enough for most non-gaming desktop tower PC.
