Lately, the story about Zero Escape's pre-order fiasco made me think of all the times Game Stop has mishandled preorder bonuses. While none of those times I had the urge to sue anyone, it is really frustrating when the bonus is just not there. Do you have any stories of when you went to pick up your preorder and the bonus (or even the game itself) was already gone?
As for myself, two examples jump into mind. First, with a PS3 game I was looking forward to, I preordered the special edition and when I went in to get the action figure that came with it, I heard the manager take the sales clerk aside and tell him only to give out the action figure to customers whose names were above a certain line drawn halfway through a list he had. I DID get mine, but was shocked to hear something like that being said. Another time, I came to get my copy of the Metroid Trilogy just 3 days after it came out and the guy at Game Stop told me that they had "sold out" of the preorder bonus t-shirts and posters. I felt that if they had my preorder, then they should have the same number of bonuses and actually stopped visiting that Game Stop (I know from friends that workers there would take some of the bonuses themselves).
