Being an only child, I haven't had as much of a problem with this as most do, but I hear it's a big problem in Pokemon where you only have one save file and any sibling playing could end up overwriting your finished game with the level 100 team with one less than halfway through, and I hear stories of people making their relatives lives miserable by deleting save games, so has this happened to you?

MY LITTLE SISTER FOR OVER HALF MY DS GAMES.

But don't worry. It doesn't happen anymore BECAUSE SHE LOST THEM ALL

When I was 8 my cousin deleted Pokemon Red while I had a level 47 Charizard. It doesn't seem like much, but when I was 8 47 was the highest I've ever gotten a Pokemon because the rest were in the 20's. He said, "Can I save it?" I said, "Sure why not?" Of course it's only one effing save file for the whole game, which would have been nice to know when I was 8. I figured it would have made a new save file, but no.

Ooohohoho that brings me so much memories... Back when i was still in elementary I beat story mode in Mario party 3 and unlocked the Game Guy (Shy Guy) room in mini game mode. Man, that room was like heaven on earth to me. Playing Game Guy's games were always fun and intense. Until i let my cousin's borrow it one day because they wanted to. I offered Super Smash Bros. instead but they said the game sucked. And when I finally got the game back, all my files were deleted. I was hella pissed. They sucked at lying to me as well when i saw them again. Probably jealous cause they never unlocked Game Guy's room when they had Mario Party 3. After all that hard work, I never bothered to play story mode afterwards.

Yes, my brother deleted them sometimes (by accident?) on purpose. Another time my uncle decided to delete my highscores on Zuma and blame it on my 3-year old cousin. olol.

Hah, was he jealous of your Zuma scores, Dev?

This hasn't happened to me. I was sometimes threatened by others who said they'd delete me games back when I was just a Lil' NintenDan. But it never happened, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Aww...Now I am one step closer to figuring out your age.

Heh, He was. I beat him by 300,000 points, and THAT was because I died more.

Oh boy, the fact he tries to blame a 3 year old makes it all the more hilarious!

Wait, your uncle deleted your game high scores and blamed your three year old cousin? That's pretty low, by any standards.

Yeah, all that hard work. Gone. But I forgive him. I can get him back in Zuma's REVENGE.

My little brother saved over my Pokemon Emerald, where I had half a dozen Pokemon that could only be evolved by happiness. I wasn't happy

but i only had a couple lives and no continues

Never was a problem in my family. Usually the rule was that the owner of the game would get the first and third save files, and the other would get the second. Usually I was the one getting the second, but occasionally my brother got the second file. I still have his unfinished SM64DS file on my game, and he probably still has many of my old files on his games.

Well, it happens all the time.
But I always store multiple copies....thanks to my OCD, so, I never really had any real trouble because of that.

Usually the games that I played have 3 saved slots. Since I had 2 brothers, each of us got a slot to save our stuff in. You didn't mess with someone else's saved stuff.

No, but I kind a did. Near the end of my SNES's life span, the console/cartridges were saying their use and if you weren't careful putting a game in or handling the console, then the game save data would be deleted. Naturally I would end up deleting my brother's FF 6 save data which he was half way through the game.

Once I messed with windows folder and eventually it crashed all system, which means my brother's and mine save files from C: were lost.

I don't remember my siblings ever doing it in a devastating way. But I do remember my Mum not understanding the PS3 save file system and saving over my 20-30hr file of Ni No Kuni. :s
