I am a Star Wars fan. I grew up with Star Wars, it was my childhood franchise. I remember back in 2013 or 2014 (2015?) I watched a show called The Clone Wars on Netflix. I remember watching The Clone Wars on the Wii U, and it has been with me ever since then.

I watched the original trilogy before The Clone Wars, of course. And I think I saw the prequels before that, but I'm not sure about it.

Regardless, I am a Star Wars fan. I was only ten or eleven when The Force Awakens came out, so I also technically grew up in the Sequel Era.

I watched Rouge One and The Last Jedi in theaters. I watched The Mandalorian when I was in ninth grade.

I have grown up in the Disney Star Wars era. I graduated high school last year, which means that Star Wars has been in my life for over thirteen years now.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I care about Star Wars. It's been with me ever since elementary school. I went to the movie theater with my father just to see Rogue One and The Last Jedi.

My Star Wars was never just Luke. I loved Luke of course, it's just…I also loved characters named Jesse, Fives, Rex, Ahsoka. The Star Wars I knew wasn't just Darth Vader, it was clone troopers. It was mandalorians, bounty hunters, and nightsisters.

This is to say, I am doing a Star Wars retrospective. I am going to explore this universe that I adore. I am going to see empires and republics, and everything in-between.

Why? Because I have a genuine question about this franchise.

Why do I care?

Why do I care about some guy named Fives? Why did Andor make me cry? Why is Cal Ketis my favorite Jedi? Why…in all genuine seriousness…Why do I care?

I will do the retrospective as follows:

Part 1: The Skywalker Saga

Any Future Projects That I'm Interested In
(Note: Anything In Part 6 might be canceled, please don't get mad at me if they do)

Not Covering:
Young Jedi Adventures (I'm not interested)
Star Wars Visions (Maybe in the future but it's not cannon so I'll skip it for now)
Shorts (Why? Why would I cover those?)
Comics (Way too busy for that)
Anything In Legends (Way too busy for that)

Kind of kicking myself for not going to go see the first movie in theaters they just re-aired. But I enjoy the Star Wars tv shows more than the movies. Clone wars was a masterpiece.

Is Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars version on your list?

Sadly that's not cannon so I probably won't cover it. I'll just be way too busy trying to get through everything that is cannon.

Quick update: I've decided to review Rogue One and Solo before The Clone Wars Movie, as I believe that it'll flow better.

You see, The Clone Wars Movie is sort of the start for the television side of Star Wars, and I'd rather have it right before Season 1 of The Clone Wars rather than two movies that aren't directly involved with the first TV show.

A Star Wars Retrospective thread needs a post about the legendary X-Wings lol
