Nvidia's new neural texture compression tech will reduce VRAM usage by 7x without any texture quality reduction. so 16GB VRAM might actually be more than enough. Dang i am tempted to get the 16GB launch version instead of wating for the 24GB version so that i could play Tifa PLOT II this month!

So you are planning to get the RTX 5080 ti/Super and not wait for the future PCIE gen 6 GPU? The hints are definitely strong on it getting the 24GB version. The Laptop launch version of RTX 5090 is already using the newer 3GB Chip thus 24GB VRAM. Can easily be done with the desktop RTX 5080 too.
MSI just updated their RTX 5080 Gaming Trio OC spec, no 24Gb yet though dang! lol
The leaked spec before was true on the RTX 5080 having the fastest Memory Speed, 30Gbps. The other RTX 50s including the RTX 5090 have 28 Gbps memory speed.
