Are video games too expensive?

Are video games too expensive? Yes and no. $60 is a reasonable price for most but when you start charging that price for remasters and re-releases of older games is when it gets to be a little goofy.

I think video games can get too expensive especially games with a shorter offline single player mode, or sports and racing games which are similar to the older versions of the game.

New ones are. Old ones, it depends on the buyer. I tend to think anything retro is more valuable unless it's first or second gen.

They've always been somewhat expensive. Earthbound was $80 when it was released, but it also came with a strategy guide. I watched footage of someone browsing Toys R Us in the early 90's and most of the prices for the Genesis titles were at least $60.
