The Simpsons Movie 2 (2027)

The Simpsons Movie is finally getting a sequel, and it will arrive in 2027. Deadline reports that Disney has scheduled The Simpsons Movie 2 for July 23rd, 2027. That release date was previously occupied by an as-yet-untitled Marvel film.

The Simpsons Movie was released all the way back in July of 2007 and was a big hit with $183.1 million domestically and $536.4 million worldwide against a $75 million budget. There’s no word on who will write or direct the new film; the previous one was directed by David Silverman with a script from a ton of Simpsons writers.

Of course, The Simpsons has remained a part of the cultural zeitgeist in the years since and a force on television; it is currently in its 37th season and features the voices of Dan Castellaneta, Yeardly Smith, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer.

It's very hard to believe we’re actually getting The Simpsons Movie 2 after all this time. The first movie was huge back in 2007, so the nostalgia alone is going to bring in a lot of fans.

Can't wait to watch it when it comes out, thought we would not get a second movie.

Crazy to think it'll be coming out 20 years after the first one did. I'm a bit conflicted on this. I really think they should end the show soon, Marge's voice actress doesn't sound good anymore. Her voice is completely shot from working on the show for decades and she's also old just like the rest of the cast. I really don't know how much more her voice can take. :\
