Multi Final Fantasy 7 remake part 3’s storyline is complete

Many of Final Fantasy 7's most endearing characters went through numerous changes, and a few of them ended up seeing significant alterations. One of the most interesting abandoned concepts for a character related to Tifa, who was poised to be Sephiroth's sister during early stages of development.
Her name was seemingly derived from Tiferet, a rough translation from the Hebrew Tree of Life rooted in ancient Kabbalistic texts. A page from the Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive also shows that she was intended to be a sibling of Sephiroth, seemingly playing the role that Aerith ended up filling as an entity connected to ancient gods.
Aerith and Tifa swapped places in the story a few times, with each filling the role the other was intended for at some point. In the case of Aerith, a version of her was intended to be a lover of Sephiroth.
Aerith and Sephiroth have been permanently linked to each other in multiple ways over the years. Their complex relationship in Final Fantasy 7 could have been a lot messier had the original version of the story seen the light of day.
As hard as it is to believe, Cloud Strife was almost never brought to life. In Hironobu Sakaguchi's original vision of Final Fantasy 7, the lead character was a man known as Hot-Blooded Detective Joe.
He was in pursuit of AVALANCHE after their assault on the city of Midgar, with implications that the original version of the group was poised to be more antagonistic than the final game. The original version of FF7 is fascinating in a number of ways, and Detective Joe represents a major part of that.
As Sakaguchi's story started to evolve, writer Tetsuya Nomura envisioned a chase story with a moving target, an element that would be one of the lone holdouts from the earliest days of development. While Cloud Strife may be one of the industry's most beloved characters, it would have been pretty interesting to see what would have happened with Hot-Blooded Detective Joe.
Vincent Valentine is one of Final Fantasy 7's most popular hidden party members, but his original iteration went through more changes and revisions than perhaps any character in the game.
He started off as a horror writer, then became a research scientist, a detective and a chemist. These concepts slowly eroded until Square ended up ditching all of them, finalizing Vincent as a former member of the Turks.
In an odd twist of fate, the final version of Vincent featured some elements that were repurposed from a scrapped version of Sephiroth. It just goes to show you how efficient Square was, and still is, never letting a concept go to waste for too long.

Square Enix has not yet given Part 3 a title or said when it will be out — "I'm hoping it's not going to be too far in the future," Hamaguchi told me — but it is expected to be revealed this year.
Hamaguchi hinted that the third game will bring in new gameplay elements that weren't in the first two. "We didn't want the three installments to be a reskinning of the same game over and over again," he said, speaking through an interpreter. "We want to make sure we're expanding with every installment in terms of scale, as well as retaining that freshness as you go into each installment."
He added that his team "already has the foundation of the gameplay in place" and is fine-tuning and polishing the game in preparation for release.
Back in 2023, Hamaguchi told me that one of the secrets to Rebirth's success was staff retention, which was also the case for this third entry. "I think the number is closer to 95% of the Rebirth staff that stayed on for the third project," he said.
So what about specifics? They're saving some details for the proper reveal, but I did convince Hamaguchi to let me ask some rapid-fire questions about what will or won't make it from the original Final Fantasy VII into the third part of the remake, given how much they changed for the last one.
Jason Schreier: Will Rocket Town be in the game?
Naoki Hamaguchi: Yeah, this is one of the elements we had to switch around with Rebirth. Yes.
Wutai?
It's one of the main locations. Yuffie's made a very prominent appearance, stating her case about her homeland. So if Wutai's not featured, I think the fans are going to yell at me
Will the Highwind let you fly anywhere?
We want to expand on the gameplay experience. Flying the Highwind is a very large part of the third installment. Let me leave it at that.
Chocobo breeding?
I can't say yay or nay on the actual breeding. But there is an element in the third installment involving Chocobos that is a little different than Rebirth.
Will we go to space?
I'll keep that a secret but considering Rocket Town is a yes…
Will we go underwater?
It's an interesting question because [Motomu] Toriyama handled the submarine portion of the game. So perhaps he has injected himself into there. And I will leave it at that.
Will the Great Glacier area be as big as it is in the original game?
Because it is a major element in the game, I won't go deep into details. But considering that toward the end of Rebirth, we're in the Forgotten City — and in the original you would go into Icicle Inn from there — I guess that hints at how the third installment will begin. I hope the players will look forward to it.

Indeed! FF 12's main man Balthier and his Bunny PLOT waifu Fran also had the Strahl primed for air to air combat and yet we only saw the baby in combat in cutscene instead of full gameplay dang it!

Ff 9 air combat scene was indeed epic but it's frigate type airship combat thing while FF 12's the Strahl was more of a fighter plane combat scene. Also The Strahl is a V/STOL fighter plane like the F-35B and the Harrier to boot. I prefer Fighter planes lol. Ff7 Highwind's secondary mode was cool though during the ending scene in the original FF7.
