The States With The Cleanest Air

Hawaii at no 1 to be expected. But new york that high a bit surprising indeed.

I'm sensing bias in the testing. New York and New Jersey are heavily congested, I would be surprised if that were proven to be actually true.

If it said towns out west, like Portland or something, I'd be more prone to believing it.
 
I feel more people are swiching to hybrid and electric cars, motorcycles, trucks, and electric bicycles and scooters in New York is helping with improving the air quality where NY is number 4 in best air quality in the USA.

More people in New York may also be using public transportation like buses, subways, trams, and car pooling where people use all the seats in their car to drive people to work and school which can help with making the air cleaner in New York if fewer people are driving themselves with no passengers to drive to different destinations.

We have an excellent sanitation dept. and there has been a campaign to get more trees planted, and there are more walk zones in the city to cut down on traffic and congestion, so these efforts have added up over time..

But I am surprised about NJ, because you can smell NJ as soon as you get near exit 13 on the NJTP..

I call BS on you talking shit about NY.. lol but NYC and NYS are still the same state, so I guess NYS balanced it out a bit.. that being said, I am surprised to see NY so high up considering how smoky it was a few weeks ago.. it was actually worse than the last time it happened 3 years ago..

New York is a major city, which is always just going to have more pollution due to population density.

Frankly the study seems a bit wrong seeing as Texas and Florida are also on here instead of rural, small population states like Montana, Alaska, Idaho, and Wyoming.

As someone that has lived there for most of her life before doubling down on her investment and moving Upstate, you're not wrong, but what I am saying is that NYC has deployed a number of green initiatives under Bloomberg, which was something good that the Napoleonic asshole has done in office. Not only did he oversee the addition of greenspaces and pedestrian-friendly areas to the city, but he also added hybrid buses and added new ones like the accordion buses to the city's fleet..

It was a step in the right direction, but of course there is more to be done. I mean our subways are a century+ old and Hurricanes Sandy and Irene showed us just how badly it needs to be updated.. and when I left Brooklyn years ago, much of the coastal areas were still in disrepair as the insurance companies tha took money from residences and businesses, ultmately decided to gaslight these people and refused to pay out the claims..

In fact, my building's condition got worse as a result of both hurricanes and the 2011 Earthquake in Mineral, VA which shook my building at the time and ultimately was what prompted our move up North..

But digression aside, considering what NYC has been through, it is very impressive that it is so high up on the list considering the size of its population..
