I know somebody had uploaded an animated GIF in the past and it functioned, but I do know that animated GIFs will only work when viewing the user's profile page. As far as I'm aware, there is no pixel limit (just a 200px suggestion). File size isn't too big either, so yeah, not really sure what the problem is. Goodness knows it's probably something really fidgety too, I just can't put my finger on it.

I uploaded a completely different gif and it worked perfectly. My guess is the fact it's got 49 frames whilst the other had nearly 10.

I would say that's probably the main reason too. Good to hear that you worked out the issue anyway!
