Not possible. As far as I know, the minute everyone is caught in a trap, the game automatically ends (as in you fail the Thrill Tower/ScareScraper game you're playing).

Yeah, that was my point. I've never seen anyone actually start ON a trap before. They spawned me on that rug. There should be some programming mechanic that prevents that.
