I've never thought that the word Buraeu was particularly anything really. I always associated it with words like vestibule.

vestibule? A vestibule is a word describing the small chamber-like area between two doorways. Like when you walk into a mall and there is a small glass room and then another set of doors before you enter the mall - that is a vestibule.

I know what a vestibule is. There's one in my house and it's freezing! It connects the front door of my house to the main hall. I say main hall because there are three halls in my house.
