Sure, I'll add you in a bit. Our accounts TelainKat I believe. I wouldn't say the controls are horrible.... Just awkward. I feel like it's something you'd get used to, especially if you've played Vita before and are sued to the touchpads. I just got mine last Saturday AND suck at FPSs with controllers, so I'm at a double disadvantage! XD

That's good to hear. I hope to pick up a copy eventually.

Yeah, but no offense meant, Brunn... if you are not a console gamer you can't really say if the controls are terrible for that game. I'm a HUGE BL fan and pre-ordered both games but I have no Vita to say how the controls are. :/

To verify; My point is that the clerk may be a fan like me and some games just do not port to handhelds right (see Prince of Persia Sands of Time and the two later games for PSP as an example) where-as some port BETTER (see God of War Chains of Olympus for PSP).

I disagree. I found that I did in fact get used to the placement of buttons, and I feel that anyone could. I wouldn't say it's a great port, but I wouldn't say it's horrible either. And I have played several consoles thank you kindly- just because I'm not tremendously good at FPS's on a console doesn't mean that I don't play them and am incapable of judging controls in a game.

In any case, it's personal opinion. I've seen multiple reviews as well as general user comments that range from being exceedingly awkward, to decent. In any case, it's freaking portable Borderlands. It's impressive by itself.

No, I didn't mean it like that. I meant those of us who have played the games on the consoles will judge the controls on a handheld much more harshly. So, for the GameStop employee - if he is like me - he probably said they were crappy because he is a console player of that series. Most console-users of a series forget that handheld ports can't compete control-wise and they judge them too harshly, was what I meant.

He may have gotten too used to the controls and didn't give himself time to adapt to the Vita's controls because they aren't 100% the same. But if you haven't played the games prior on a console version then they will typically feel fine to you from the get-go on the portable. That make more sense now? I tried to word that better. lol

And so you don't feel like I was singling you out or attacking you; typically, when I talk and I say "you" I am not targeting a single person. I use "you" as a whole.

Oh, now I get ya. I've played the first Borderlands on the PS3 when we got it for free through plus. I found them to be only slightly more annoying because I'm not a fan of FPSs on consoles. I do think more of the reviews should have taken that into account though- I mean the Vita is missing 4 whole physical buttons compared to the PS3 controller.

The fact that it's the full game, with multiple expansions and no loss of features should have counted for more... ANd most of the user reviews and comments on the 'official reviews' are saying as much. Awkward, but fantastic none the less!

Yeah, I never understood how reviewers can ignore the fact that handhelds generally have less buttons, lower hardware support, and other such factors. The Prince of Persia games it was the camera controls and delay in the button presses that made me judge it so harshly on the PSP (there is no excuse for a full-on 1-second delay in user-to-action timing). The God of Wars showed that you can get around buttons lost VERY nicely! I actually prefer the PSP games of GoW to the console and have...

And wow? All the DLC and expansions and characters are in the Vita version? Oh, wait.. you said Borderlands 1, right? not 2?
