I get the tv dying (may it rip) but why would you lose your pokemon progress?

I was playing it on a gaming device (which was hooked up to the TV), and I didn't shut it down properly, so it didn't save the last session's progress...

Should haven't touched it till you got it onto a new screen, but sorry to hear that, feel that pain.
