sourceNintendo of America's director of product marketing Bill Trinen revealed in an interview Reno Gazette-Journal that there is no Mario video game title scheduled for release this year. He noted that while Mario titles release quite frequently, it is not an annual occurrence, as there is no title scheduled for this year.
The interview also includes information about the company's policy on region-locking, the revival of old-school gaming, and Nintendo's philosophy on game development.
Nintendo shipped Super Mario 3D World for its Wii U video gaming system in Japan, North America, and Europe in 2013. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, a puzzle game which focuses on Mario universe character Toad, shipped in November in Japan, and in North America in December.
Hmmm, not the best of news. Nintendo needs more heavy hitters out than Zelda U.
