I know a lot of people are hyped for the expected 3rd Gen remakes (including me), but...sadly nothing is confirmed right now, but the good thing is that Pokemon B2/W2 is coming this fall. However...It worries me that there might not be any 3rd Gen remakes at all...or at least for now. Here are 3 reasons why this might be true, and why these remakes will eventually become actual games.
1) Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are the last DS Pokemon games
Yeah, this is confirmed, and not surprising, considering it is the end of the DS's lifespan. Usually there are 1 remake per generation...but not for Genreation 5.
2) All of the R/S/E non-event legendaries can be caught in Generation 4 games
Regis can be caught in Platinum, and the rest are in HG/SS, including the weather trio, the first time mascot legendaries can be caught in another game (not counting Ho-oh/ Lugia in Gen3 because of the incompatibility with Gen2). Does that mean anything?
3) B2/W2, the end of Pokemon (?)
This is just my random thought considering ALL previous gym leaders and what not can be battled in a single game, and the negative reflections of *some* people...*cough*midna*cough*megamariofan*cough*genwunners*cough*, but only has a 1% chance of becoming true.
However, this might work:
R/S remakes for the 3DS, starting Generation 6
This is the first generation that does not introduce any new Pokemon, but it does add new mechanics and items. One important reason why this might happen is the ability for developers to patch a game, which means they can add new Pokemon to a game ANY time, so when a new Generation 6 game comes out, they can add all the Pokemon data to the R/S remakes. Sounds pretty reasonable?
Thoughts?
