3 reasons why Game Freak might not release R/S remakes at all...or for now

I know a lot of people are hyped for the expected 3rd Gen remakes (including me), but...sadly nothing is confirmed right now, but the good thing is that Pokemon B2/W2 is coming this fall. However...It worries me that there might not be any 3rd Gen remakes at all...or at least for now. Here are 3 reasons why this might be true, and why these remakes will eventually become actual games.

1) Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are the last DS Pokemon games
Yeah, this is confirmed, and not surprising, considering it is the end of the DS's lifespan. Usually there are 1 remake per generation...but not for Genreation 5.

2) All of the R/S/E non-event legendaries can be caught in Generation 4 games
Regis can be caught in Platinum, and the rest are in HG/SS, including the weather trio, the first time mascot legendaries can be caught in another game (not counting Ho-oh/ Lugia in Gen3 because of the incompatibility with Gen2). Does that mean anything?

3) B2/W2, the end of Pokemon (?)
This is just my random thought considering ALL previous gym leaders and what not can be battled in a single game, and the negative reflections of *some* people...*cough*midna*cough*megamariofan*cough*genwunners*cough*, but only has a 1% chance of becoming true.

However, this might work:
R/S remakes for the 3DS, starting Generation 6
This is the first generation that does not introduce any new Pokemon, but it does add new mechanics and items. One important reason why this might happen is the ability for developers to patch a game, which means they can add new Pokemon to a game ANY time, so when a new Generation 6 game comes out, they can add all the Pokemon data to the R/S remakes. Sounds pretty reasonable?

Thoughts?

It would be awesome if 3rd generation remakes came out. Especially if its for the 3ds. Please Nintendo I'm begging you!

You know, while the 3rd generation main releases didn't come out on DS, there were a bunch of other gen III games for the DS. Besides, I don't think they would declare this Generation over so quickly...

i am hoping for like
Mystery dungeon for the Unova region + Pokemon ranger from Unova region+Remakes of Gen 3 and 4+i would like to see the next gen base on pre-evolutions and new evolutions unlike this generation, if there is a gen 6

I like R/S, but I don't think they need remakes to be honest. Like Red/Blue didn't really need one it was just nice I guess to have updated graphics. G/S didn't either, but I guess it was nice. However the graphics for Ruby and Sapphire aren't that bad. They don't really need graphical enhancements. R/B and G/S didn't either, but it was nice.

The HGSS games were actually very crucial to the series. The games were becoming very difficult to transfer between with certain Pokemon and particularly with the DSi getting rid of the extra slot. Also, HGSS made huge strides to making breeding more streamlined. Yes, BW made breeding even better, but people STILL play HGSS to get all kinds of things you can't get in Gen 5.

There is not much reason for a RS remake because HGSS did such a good job combining the older gens into one game. I can't really think of anything I would want added to the older game except for BW's streamlined movement/breeding and enhanced graphics.
