Xbox product director Aaron Greenberg has revealed that 360 will never get a web browser - because exploring the internet on a home TV is "a poor experience".

CVG sister mag Edge asked Greenberg if the console would get browser functionality similar to Wii and PS3's in the future.

He replied: "No. We really believe that the web browsing experience on TV is a poor one, and the real magic is to take those web experiences and optimise them for the living room. That's what we did with Netflix. So, sure, you can go on the PS3 and go to Facebook and and try to navigate, but it's an absolute nightmare."

He added: "No disrespect, there's things I love about the PS3, but that's not one of them. We want the online experience to be fun and optimised for the living room, and we'll continue to add more applications to get more richness"

It takes a big man to make fun of a system, it takes a bigger man to say that he has things he likes about a competing gaming system.

I think it is a smart business move since if the 360 has a web browser. People use their 360 to play animated flash games instead of buying games on Xbox Live, and watch pirated/free movies on streaming media websites instead of buying them on Netflix.

I agree using a console to check your e-mail and watch Youtube clips can be kind of annoying if you do not have a keyboard for the 360.
