Touted to offer the best of both worlds, the Fire TV Stick will feature a remote control that paves the way for simple and easy navigation, where you can also make use of your handset as a remote, alongside the free mobile app that will include voice search capability.

The Fire TV Stick will sport a dual-core processor to get things up and running in a jiffy, while offering double the memory of Google’s Chromecast. Throw in dual-band, dual-antenna (MIMO) Wi-Fi, as well as exclusive features such as ASAP for instant streaming, and you have more or less got quite a winner here – at least on paper.

This looks like a good Streaming Stick for watching online video. $39 is also a good price for a stick which comes with a remote.

Hopefully, this stick can also play games on the TV, like the Fire TV, Gamestick, Ouya, and other micro consoles.

Seems to just be to stream. I have no need for it. Most people wouldn't need it with a smart TV or bluray player.
The main purpose of the Fire TV stick is to stream, but it also has a dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage, dedicated VideoCore4 GPU, and has Bluetooth, so you can use a Bluetooth game controller like the Fire TV controller for gaming on, and use some apps with a controller, bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

According to http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-W87CUN-Fire-TV-Stick/dp/B00GDQ0RMG#ASAP this stick is compatible with a Bluetooth controller, and can play games like the larger Fire TV settop box. I bet this stick will be used for streaming games like Onlive, PS Now, and other online game streaming services in the future.

I think some people with a Smart TV, and Blu-Ray player may still want a seperate device like the Fire TV stick because this stick is probably faster, more portable, easier to use, more reliable/crash less, and have more apps, and services than the apps and services which came with their smart TV, and Blu-Ray Player because Amazon is the third largest App store behind Apple App store, and Google Play which hold the number 1 and 2 spot.

You can also carry the Fire TV stick and remote in your pocket to another location like a friends house to watch streaming video, video on the device, use apps, or play games on their TV with an HDMI port.
