As part of their showing today at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Optoma unveiled their newest series home projection systems, the Game Time projector series. According to Optoma, the Game Time projectors were designed specifically with interactive gaming in mind, but as far as we can tell, the systems are just more cost-efficient than most of the company's other solutions and offer quick start up and shut down times.
The two new projectors are the GT360 and the GT720, and both feature 2,500 lumens, 3,000:1 contrast ratios, built-in stereo speaker systems, and short-throw lenses to accommodate smaller room configurations. The GT360, Optoma says, is designed with the Nintendo Wii in mind, with a native SVGA resolution of 800 x 600. The GT360 is capable of accepting and processing full 1080p HD signals from other sources, but the resolution output remains limited to 800 x 600.
