Yesterday at their Nintendo World 2011 event in Japan, Nintendo themselves gave some indication of how long we can expect the battery life of their highly-anticipated 3DS hand-held to last for.
According to their "estimates", it was revealed that users can expect anywhere between 3-5 hours of battery life while playing a 3DS game with the back lighting set to "soft." We do not know what level of lighting this is, at this time.
The estimated figure increases, however, to a whopping five-to-eight hours if you're playing a standard DS game.
It was also revealed that the 3DS battery will need to be charged for 3.5 hours in order for said battery to reach full. These announcements, however, do not tell the full story as Kotaku points out:
"the more you increase the screen's brightness, the bigger the hit the 3DS' battery life will take'."
The Nintendo 3DS will launch in Japan on February, with Europe and the US receiving it sometime in March.

as long as you don't use the 3D, the batter should hold out.
