EA has confirmed that FIFA 12 will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS, describing it as the "most innovative, feature-rich and authentic 3D football experience" on the platform.
EA also claims the game will boast the largest feature set of any handheld FIFA game, containing over 500 officially licensed clubs, detailed career and tournament modes and head-to-head online matches via Wi-Fi.
Additionally, FIFA 12 also promises to take full advantage of the 3DS's unique hardware. In a new mode – 3D Street Football – players take to the streets, from Brazil to France, to compete in smaller five-a-side games. These matches are played on what EA describes as "a curved pitch", which is said to offer "a unique lower camera view that maximises 3D planes, depth of the field and player movement." Players will also be able to use optional touch screen controls, allowing them to thread the perfect through-ball.
FIFA 12 on 3DS is slated for a release later this year.
