As Nintendo's official 3DS price cut inches closer, retailers are beginning to hype up sales and discounts they'll be offering at the same time.
First up is Target, which is timing a trade-in deal for this Friday (August 12) and Saturday (August 13) only. Customers can turn in their DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL systems, provided they're working, for cash toward a new Nintendo 3DS. These deals are only valid at Target stores with Mobile centers.
The trade-in values are:
DSi XL: $100
DSi: $75
DS Lite: $40
GameStop, meanwhile, is offering a similar deal for its PowerUp Rewards Pro members. Trading in a DSi, DSi XL or DS Lite will immediately discount a new 3DS to $99. PowerUp Pro members pay $14.99 annually for the service's benefits.
So there you go. If you didn't head to your local Wal-Mart or Target to buy a 3DS early, you can go to GameStop or... Target!
Get 'em while they're cheap, folks. There are plenty of great games on the way.
