$199 will get you a brand-new 8GB 3G iPhone with a two-year contract with AT&T. Current subscribers are expected to be able to re-up their contract to get the new iPhone. A 16GB version will be available for $299, with a white version coming down the line.

Apple was nice enough to kick-in GPS with turn-by-turn support and tracking.

So when will it be available?

Unfortunately, not today. The 3G iPhone will release in the US on July 11th and will most likely come with the long-awaited 2.0 firmware, which supports custom applications. Some of these applications were previewed today. The 2.0 firmware will also include Enterprise solutions, which the iPhone desperately needs to start chipping into BlackBerry's business market.

Those of you that were smart enough to sell your original iPhone last week should be feeling pretty happy now as the market on first-gen iPhones has crashed. One reseller is offering $44 for a brand-new 8GB iPhone. Ouch.

For the rest of us who didn't sell early, we suggest giving your father a late gift for Father's Day. Nothing says "I Love You" like last-gen tech.

Now for the nitty, gritty tech specs direct from Apple's store. Apple's online store is not currently taking pre-orders, but we'll let you know if they start.

looks good but it sounds like a failure of the first one.

I got an e-mail about this today.
I don't see the point in getting an iPhone right now. I have no need for all that in a phone.
