As if the poor Japanese sales of the PlayStation Vita weren't bad enough, Amazon.com is adding fuel to the fire. Today, the online retailer updated the webpage for the PlayStation Vita 3G/Wifi model so that the Product Details read "Discontinued by manufacturer: Yes."
Does this mean the 3G Vita isn't coming? Doubtful as 3G has been such a big part of the Vita push, but we don't know for sure. Still, Sony representatives haven't answered our email yet. A message was left with Amazon. When we know more, we'll update this article.
UPDATE: Sony has confirmed to IGN that the 3G/Wifi PlayStation Vita is not cancelled despite an Amazon.com update.
"It's not true," a Sony representative said. "We'll look into this now and ask our team to connect with Amazon."
