As they often do, Nintendo has once again released a system update killing homebrew support for the Wii today, bringing us to version 4.2. Unfortunately, the benefit of updating isn't particularly great, especially if you're into the homebrew scene -- the 4.2 update completely eliminates any such content you may have on your system.

Assuming you're not the homebrew type, you won't find anything new except supposedly increased system performance. Really, this update seems to fall in line with the 4.1 update, which also attempted to stop any unauthorized, third-party channels from calling the Wii home. But just like last time (and the times before that), it's almost surely just a matter of time before the homebrew scene finds a workaround to once again let them run wild. Following that, we can all sit tight and look forward to update 4.3.

ohhhh ouch, tough break for homebrew Wii people.

I turned off my WiiConnect24 as soon as I heard others about the Wii actually automatically updating the Wii system. Usually you have the option, but alot of Homebrewer's are saying their Wii automatically updated to 4.2 losing thier Homebrew Menu.

I don't use the HBC for cheats and hacks; I only have it for one purpose, and it's the Brawl Match Replay cheats. For saving matches that go over 3 minutes, and that's it.

I stopped updating before they made it forced in 3.4, I'm still running 3.2.

EDIT- And 4.2 is cracked, HackMii can reinstall the HBC.

LMFAO I don't why that's so funny. Nintendo is trying to hard to get rid of HBC and here comes along a little hack...lol

The funny thing about this is the hack was out in just a few days, when Twilight hack was outdated by a system update it took a few weeks at times.
