I hate 3D and 4D graphics, including games and movies, I still love mine 2D. VR has given me a headache/migraine, dizziness and motion sickness after playing it for a while. How about you? Do you prefer in your case more 4D, 3D, or 2D games?
Technically all games are 2D as they are projected on a 2D plane, but 3D can also be projected on 2D and that's where 2D is also projected on 3D models and scenery. 4D I believe should be out of our understanding as we don't perceive those principles without eyes. 3D is a fine medium because it's what we are used to. 2D is fine but then there are weird arguments like Smash Bros where the models are 3D but move on a 2D plane. Some camera movements portray 2D movement but the camera turns as you are moving. VR just isn't good enough in price or games for it to be a reliable source of entertainment. I think seeing the buttons on my controller is integral to my learning a game.
And there's no actual camera in 3d rendering, you are rotating and/or moving the 3d polygons using quaternions converted to transformation matrices, the camera actually never moves, it's just the static 2d projection viewing window. quaternions are used instead of just normal 3d matrices to avoid the gimbal lock problem.
