I recently herd about this new resolution for tvs which I believe are due out pretty soon but of course something like this will send flat screen tv prices skyrocketing.

Anyone plan on upgrading?

I probably get one if it cost the same, or almost the same as a regular flat screen of the same size which is in HD, and when my current TV breaks, so I need a new TV.

I think over time 4K will drive down the prices for 720P-1080P TV, or discontinue HDTV, so they sell out to make shelf space for the 4K TV at stores while the 4K TV stay the same in price as the older HD sets. I think people won't pay more for the same amount of glass, but at a higher resolution, and similar thickness until the HDTV becomes discontinued, and you'll be force to buy a 4K TV.

I heard the TV and cable industry is not doing as good as the past since people aren't really buying new TVs until they break or not at all because people are happy with their current TV, or spend most of their time watching TV shows and movies on their computer monitor, laptop, tablet, smartphone, and eReaders like the Kindle Fire instead of their standalone TV because it is more convenient, and cheaper to watch TV on other video devices because of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, and other free and affordable online download and streaming sites.

Until the Holographic TV which does not require 3D or Holographic glasses come out, I think most people wouldn't be very interested in super big TVs which are 4K-10k or higher. I think most people are fine with current HDTV. I also heard the size of the average house and apartment is becoming smaller, so most people might not be able to fit such a big TV in their home.

Some people still use Tube TVs and Regular TVs since they are in color, and good enough for watching Cable TV, DVDs, and VCR.

Many people are also satisfied watching videos on a laptop, tablet, or even smartphone with a smaller and lower quality screen since they can watch their video anywhere, and have privacy and quietness when watching their video in their room, kitchen, or garage.

I don't really mind tube TV since I only move them twice in its lifetime when I buy them, and when I throw them away. Plus, I didn't really own huge Tube TVs back then.

Plus, most Tube TV I had in the past lasted for years without breaking. I still have some which still work, and I use them sometimes.

I saw a video on YouTube of iJustine trying to break a TV with a bat, and she had to find a more muscular man to use the bat to break the TV.

A flying Wiimote broke their flatscreen LCD TV. I think TV companies need to include a clear plastic shield for gaming now that the Wii, PS3 Move, and Kinect are so popular.

Warning: at the end of the video there is a dog touching a boy inappropriately...
