PlayStation 6.2M PS4 sales in holiday season

Sony sold 6.2 million PlayStation 4 systems during the holiday season, the company announced today. As of January 1, 2017, Sony has sold 53.4 million PS4 systems worldwide since launch in 2013.

During the holiday period, Sony sold 50.4 million PS4 games at retail and digitally.

If I recall correctly, after the price drop of the Xbox One the sales started to be comparable to PS4. PS4 is probably still the king of this generation though.

There are apparently a few months when Xbox was outselling, at least in the US. What it stands at overall worldwide is impossible to tell though.
