65 Million Steam Users

On the thirtieth of October, Valve announced that Steam has grown from its last update in late 2012, when they had around 50M Steam accounts, to 65M.

This is pretty big, when you consider that Microsoft has 48M users of XBOX LIVE.

I've got to say that this is pretty surprising to me, even with my industry knowledge.

It's quite impressive statistics which just shows the vast potential of the platform for game studios which want to release their games to as large an audience as possible.

There are a lot of gamers on Steam. I bet one of the main reasons Steam has so many members is because they come out with a lot of great free to play games like Dota 2, and Team Fortress 2. Plus, they have a lot of sales on games where you can buy full versions of games for a few dollars, and plenty of games for under $10 when there is no sale going on.
