With the release of the Xbox one tonight, the gaming world has officially entered the 8th Console generation with PS4, Wii U, Xbox one, 3DS and PS Vita leading it.
With so many nice looking and powerful devices out there with the good and bad games, what are you plans for this generation?
I myself plan to get Wii U next year with the new smash bros, and whenever Kingdom hearts 3 comes out I'll get a PS4, maybe sooner depending on Persona 5. And I'll only get a Vita if Sony releases Vita TV state side. I already have a 3DS and have no plans for a Xbox one, might still get Xbox 360.
I plan on checking out the Steambox, but don't really have plans for buying a Wii U, PS4, Vita, 3DS or Xbox One.
I may just continue to play games on my current consoles, laptop, tablet, and PC, and buy a better PC, or upgrade my PC, so I can play even more games on my PC.
I also may get one of those Micro-consoles like the Ouya, Gamestick, Nvidia Shield, or Madcatz Mojo since they are more affordable, and portable, and the games are cheaper.
I think the Steambox would be out next year during one of those big electronic conferences like CES or a gaming conference like E3. The 9th generation would be very far in the future, so the Steambox would more likely be out in the 8th.
There are already a few lucky beta testers for the Steambox, so after beta testing is done, it should be out soon.
