A Certain Scientific Railgun Anime Season 3

This year's November issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine revealed on Friday that the third season of A Certain Scientific Railgun (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) anime will premiere in January 2020. The anime will air in Japan on AT-X, Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11, and Abema TV.

fripSide are performing the opening theme song, and Kishida Kyōdan & The Akeboshi Rockets are performing the ending theme song.

The staff announced the new season at the "Dengeki Bunko 25th Anniversary Fall Dengeki Festival" event in October 2018. The anime was originally slated to premiere in 2019.

Misaki actually does something in this arc, and they introduce another level 5. The anime introduced her in season 2 for pretty much no reason, which kind of annoyed me, because I was expecting her to be an antagonist in both arcs, but her 3 min intro was really pointless.

that's my problem right now, been a good while since I saw the first few seasons (and movie) so I'm going to need a refresh.

Well Railgun 3 happens before the movie, because Kuroko is placed in a wheelchair around this arc in Index, and both the movie and Index aren’t really necessary in the arc. Tbh there isn’t really a lot of continuity you really need to worry about.
