The Playstation and Playstation 2 are great systems. Seriously. Marketing was fine. It was just normal. Then, Sony released the Playstation 3. What was once a nice system series was turned an obnoxious torrent of crap overly obsessed on these shooters, "LOL TEH 3PICNESS GRAPHICS" and "hardcore" gaming. Seriously, all I hear about it is LOL KILLZONE AND MEDAL OF H0NOR AND CALL OF DUTY IS TEH GRATENES!!1

Then, they added the Trophy system, so people could do stupid things so they could have an image of a trophy in their collection. Just like 360, 'cept not with points.

And then, they blatanly copied the Wii with Playstation Move. Sixaxis was obvious enough. But this is dumb.

I just needed to get that out.

+1'd.

I'm sorry to say this, but you guys are being real ignorant when it comes to stuff like this. Whenever FPS's are better suited for a certain system, of course there is gonna be more on that console. Have you ever played an FPS on a Wii or a DS? That is a great example of a bad console for a certain genre.

But to my main point: If you think that FPS's are the only game for a PS3 (and Xbox 360), you are mistaken. There are games like Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (A great racing game released not too long ago) and the Burnout series that are awesome racing games for Xbox 360 and PS3, Assassin's Creed is on both as well and is a very fun game in my opinion, RPG's like Oblivion and Final Fantasy are also widely respected (although I don't play either), and even Mass Effect and Fallout are also good RPGs, and Little Big Planet is another good example being a platformer and puzzle game.

PS3 seems to be enjoyed by a lot of people right now, but I get where you are coming from DL. Opinions differ person to person of a good system sadly, so there will never be a console everybody likes.

Unfortunately, you are wrong about Sony copying the Wii. Sony had been working on the Move since two years before the Wii even came out.

Also, your points about "Call of Duty and Metal of Honor" are no different than the 360 and PC. In fact, there's more of this on the 360 if you hadn't known. Regardless, yes there are many of those kinds of people just playing for their war and racing games. However, you need to realize that just because there is a huge fanbase for those games, doesn't mean the system or games are bad. I mean, God of War is a great series, along with Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, 3D Dot Game Heroes, and many others I'm too lazy to list.

You are mistaking the community for Sony. Sony isn't the one screaming "Hardcore", it's the fans. The games you mentioned aren't even made by Sony.

Oh yeah, and the Trophies. Those were added because it they were originally supposed to be given to you in Playstation Home so you could display them in your house, but they scrapped that for some reason. Developers also asked Sony for it to be implemented.(ex. Activision, for Call of Duty, because you know, they love money and some people just love achievements for some stupid reason)

You are putting way too much blame on Sony when you don't even realize what you are actually saying. Blame fans and third party developers, not Sony.

^Sums up my thoughts fairly well.

I agree that the PS3 was a bad idea that rips off the Wii.

Also FPS's suck. They have the same plot basically. Just shoot everything. Doesn't sound fun. The only thing changes is what you fight. Like zombies, aliens, Nazis, other countries. It's not like you fight Nazi zombies, or zombie aliens, or Nazi zombie aliens in another country. Heck I find puzzle games to be more fun.

Either way action/adventure games are better which is what the Wii is good at. Besides lately which all they're doing is making learning games for some stupid reason.

Also as where 360 is also better than PS3, the Kinect also ripped off motion controls and made them crap. I should know. I played a kinect game. It was like Free Ride or something like that.

This is very biased and wrong. I already explained above why.

And you are pretty close-minded to think that all FPS games suck. Ever play the Half-Life series? It's more than just "shooting everything". It has an incredible story.

I've read about Half-Life enough to know it pretty much near revolutionised how FPS's are played... right? Because wasn't the entire game was in the first person view, even during cutscenes, so it really immersed you in the game?

I'm not a huge FPS fan but I still like those kinds of games if they appeal to me, heh.

Exactly.

And honestly, I'm not all that into FPS games either. But if it has a great story or unique gameplay, I'll give it a shot.

As everyone likes different kinds of games, they also like different consoles. Just like everything else in life.

Personally, I don't worry too much about the console so long as it fills its purpose - to play the games I want to play and do it well. I really don't use them for other purposes, like using the PS2 to watch DVDs. No need, got a DVD player for that. Why put music on the Xbox 360 when its so much simpler to put it on my iPod to listen to whenever I want?

However, some people may prefer to put music on their 360, or use the PS2 to play DVDs (and yes, I know its an outdated console, but you get my drift).

Like I said, everyone will like some things that others may not.
