The story of A Way Out begins in prison with two separate inmates, Leo and Vincent, who don’t know each other. While their individual stories progress, players will have to build a relationship based on trust as they break both men out of prison into the world beyond.

At their E3 conference today, EA announced A Way Out, a new co-op-only adventure game by the team behind 2013 indie darling Brothers. It’s a split-screen prison break game slated for a 2018 release (delays pending).

First off, can they please remove those horrible sideburns from his face? it makes him look bad.

Anyway, this has Prison Break, the tv series, written all over it? Coincidence with its recent revival and brand new season? I don't know. Also, I see some Hitman elements with hiding in laundry carts.

It does seem like a very promising and fun game though. I agree with IntoxNitram and sincerely hope that it isn't only Co-op. I'd love to play some single player by myself and not be forced to play with strangers. If they play their cards right, it will be a huge hit.

I fell in love with this title as soon as I saw it. The only thing I really, really hate is the split screen. If the whole game will revolve on split screen, I will most likely be skipping it. Split screen days are long gone for me. As much as I hate to say it, but that would be the main reason for me to never look at this title again. I sure as hell hope they will allow people to either play SP alone or introduce MP without the darn thing. It is really annoying IMHO.

This is one of my favorites this year, but the split screen and the only co-op fact bothers me. It'd be fun to play with a friend but a single-player option would be great and I'm pretty sure if they'd include it more people would buy the game. Because right now I'm hesitating if I'll get it or not. With a single-player option I'd say a 100% yes.

This entry was a surprise, coming from EA. That being said, I have high hopes. Watching the trailer it reminded me quite a bit of Uncharted, which is one of my favorite games. I like the fact that it places emphasis on co-op, and the intensity would probably be a pretty great bonding experience with another player, however if it's co-op only I can see that being a problem. I for example only have one person I really enjoy playing games with, and being we're often busy I don't see us having the time to invest into this. If it's co-op only, that gives neither of us a reason to buy it. If it has single player mode, then I could consider it but I'd imagine the AI is incredibly difficult to program for something like this.
