That being said, a report from DigiTimes claims that Acer has since come forward to clarify that they do not have plans to acquire HTC either. Why would Acer say that? I think Acer and HTC is not a very good for each other being together since Acer is known for making affordable devices with decent quality while HTC is more known for making premium smartphones and tablets which sell for similar prices to Samsung smartphones.
Acer also already makes a few budget priced smartphones for people who want a cheap unlocked phone which they can use with cell plans.
Acer's tablets are also usually made to be affordable, but still have okay specs, and quality.
